How to make Eggless Chocolate Brownie ~ Step by Step Pictures

For the final day of BM# 46, under Combo Dishes, I have my most favorite dessert that I always order when we dine out. Chocolate Brownie Sizzler with Ice Cream. The version we get in restaurants, are those decadent, rich dark chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream with hot dripping chocolate sauce poured over it. It surely a dish that takes you straight to heaven!

The last time I remember enjoying this was in a near by restaurant to my office. I went in with my colleagues and everybody felt that they would not be able to eat one by themselves! Only each of us were disappointed that what we ordered wasn't enough as the brownie disappeared the moment it was served! And it was so piping hot as it's served on a sizzler.

Though I have made many versions of Brownies and Ice creams, never made them together to be served. So I ensured I got two new recipes to try this combo. Everybody simply enjoyed their dessert and kids were after me wanting for more. For my chocoholic family, this was surely a treat.

Eggless Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, with hot Chocolate Sauce!

Eggless Chocolate Brownie

Ingredients Needed:

All purpose flour - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Butter - 1/4 cup
Cocoa powder - 1/4 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Milk chocolate, chopped - 1/2 cup
Apple puree - 1/2 cup

How to make the Chocolate Brownie

Melt the butter, sugar, cocoa and milk together in a thick pan. When it starts thickening, add the chopped milk chocolate and continue stirring till it coats the ladle.

Allow to cool, then add apple puree, flour and baking powder. Gently combine everything and pour into a lined baking pan.

Pre heat the oven at 185 C and then bake for 25 mins. Reduce to 175 and bake for 10 mins.

Cool and cut into squares.

One of the most popular combo to be served in restaurants. I myself love it and your pics tempt me. I like the use of apple sauce ..have yet to use it in my baking.

Thank you everybody!

Sowmya I have used Beets, bottle gourd, banana, haven't tried with other fruit purees. I think Prunes will work best as well. the apple puree in this recipe works as egg substitute when combined with baking powder. Other fruit cakes will have other egg substitutes. So you could try with other fruit purees as well.

Srivalli said...

Parul I simply pulsed apples and used the puree. Didn't boil it.
