Cabbage Urad Dal Bonda

I have yet it another vada that I had made during the lunch thali that I had posted couple of weeks back. This simple, yet delicious bonda is made with shredded cabbage in urad dal. Try this and enjoy for a wonderful snack or as a side dish for sambar.

Cabbage Urad Dal Bonda

For Batter

Urad Dal - 1 cup
Green chillies - 2 (optional)
Salt to taste

Masala to be added:

Cabbage - 1 cup
Onions - 1 medium
Green Chillies - 2
Curry Leaves - few
Coriander Leaves few

Oil for deep frying.

How to make Cabbage Urad Dal Bonda

Soak Urud dal for minimum 2 hrs. Drain the water and grind it to a very smooth batter. You can grind chillies along with the batter or can be added later as fine pieces as per taste.

Chop cabbage, onions, green chillies and add all the ingredients to the batter.

Heat Oil in a kadai. When the oil is hot, drop in bondas with help of a spoon. Cook in sim to ensure it gets cooked well.

Serve hot
